History of JKF Gojukai
JKF Gojukai is part of the Japan Karate Federation (JKF), which was established in 1964 to standardize and promote the practice of karate across Japan and the world. The Goju Ryu style, one of the four main styles recognized by the JKF, has its roots in Okinawan martial arts and was founded by Chojun Miyagi. The name "Goju Ryu" means "Hard-Soft Style," reflecting the combination of hard and soft techniques used in this martial art.

Chojun Miyagi developed Goju Ryu by integrating traditional Okinawan techniques with Chinese martial arts. He emphasized the importance of both physical training and spiritual development, a philosophy that continues to guide Goju Ryu practitioners today. The JKF Gojukai was formed to preserve and promote Miyagi's teachings, ensuring that the rich tradition of Goju Ryu Karate is passed down through generations.
